Removing epoxy?

Any tips on removing epoxy from circuit boards? Got some left gooped up on a circuit board that needs removed before I get this ssc p4 into my victorinox 2AA. Scraping may work, but this stuff is pretty well cured.

circuit boards are epoxy.... so anything except scraping/sanding will render the PCB useless.

I can usually remove potting/epoxy by heating it first.

Also, epoxy =! epoxy.

I once had to remove some especially tough one from a stainless steel / teflon part (where scraping would have hurt the teflon).
I ended up heating in to 70C in formic acid for 3 days, and after that long baths in ultrasound...

There ARE special epoxy killers, but for that one, it was taken from the market because it was carciogenic..
