yes its a piece of cake..
1) do NOT attempt to pull the 'retaining plastic ring' out from the top.. not the way it comes apart!
2) pull the plastic button cover off.
3 ) use something like a bit straw.. or a fine point needlenose.. and put the star down and out.. it'll push all the guts out on the way.. the star is solid aluminum so pretty tough, just don't wreck the leads or push on the emitter itself.
4) step 1 should be 'remove bezel' and 1a 'remove battery tube'.
it's a cake walk..
OH..
putting back together: make sure you pay attention to the switch! it's totally symmetrical.. but inside on the pcb it has an "LED" lable which goes toward the led.. and make sure you put it in right side up or you can't press the button.
