Hi All,

It's been a while I've been over here! There a so many topics that it seems impossible to me to find a good replacement for my current edc Raidfire Spear which I bought years ago (2009) due to the good reviews on this forum.

So, I'm searching for a compact thrower which fits easy in my pocket operating on one 18650, or two RCR123's. The Raidfire measures up at 16/4,45/2,55 cm. I'm not on a budget, but I don't want to modify a flashlight myself. So, what's the best thrower 'money can buy'?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards from the Netherlands, Ronald

If you're on a budget, a Solarforce L2N with a M3 head is about the same size, similar throw and a lot more lumens.

Thanks for your reply; looking at something around $200-$400...Might be even more if the new light is 'so much better' then the estimated budget.

If you've got more money to spend - take a look at the Armytek Predator w/XP-G2. Smaller bezel, but similar throw.

There are any number of XM-L based single 18650 lights, but the XM-L is a much bigger emitter, and while you'll be getting ~800 lumens instead of ~200, they might not match the spear for distance.

The Crelant 7G6CS, Lumintop TD15, Quark Maelstrom G5, Nitecore P25, Skilhunt Defier X1 and Thrunite TN10/TN11 are all equivalent examples

Slightly off topic: I'm curious ... now what could the Spear do with a XP-G2 driven to ~2.8 A
I saw a 1.4 A XP-G modded Spear once here; that light seemed to be nice already.
