I've had an original Night Ops Gladius for around eight years which I use at work as a vehicle examiner and also at home for general use around the house and out walking ect.

The torch does everything I need but I've always found it expensive and a hassle to locate the CR123 batteries and my torch also seems to have developed a fault where it discharges the batteries even when turned off, so if I forget to remove the tail cap I return to two flat batteries.

I am thinking of making a change to something else which uses AA or AAA batteries.

Would like it to have the same sort of specs as the Gladius but not fussed about flashing mode, but would like at least some control over brightness although I don't require the full fade adjust of the Gladius.

There seems to be loads of units out there at tool shops etc for around the £20-30 mark but I'd rather take some recommendations on what is decent before buying wasting my cash.

Thanks

Daniel
