I've been without a flashlight for a while and I've been getting a bit annoyed at that fact... the driver of my first flashlight, an RC-N3 II from Shiningbeam, somehow went and died.

Now, I'm trying to get something to replace the driver so I can have a cheap EDC light again. I've gone and looked at the driver list and I'm thinking on getting the Madmax Lite to run a Q5 off of 1 NiMh AA. Just a few questions first, though:

Will it work? (probably, but just confirmation)
Possibility of multi-mode addition or am I stuck with full output? [EDIT:Nvm. Prob too complex to add it to a single mode driver.]
Should I choose a different driver? (in this case, it should be 14mm max, hopefully multimode)

Any help appreciated!

Did you mean 2xAA? The driver should work.

You won't have any modes as that is a function of the driver you're replacing.

The battery tube is designed for 1xCR123A or 2xAA.

If you want to use 1xAA, you'll need to get a dummy AA cell to fill in the gap.
