Well. I woke up earlier this afternoon to find i had a package that was delivered by the postal lady. Box was the small one that most stuff comes in but it was unusually heavy. I thought somebody might have sent me a brick or something. I open it up to find a nice looking gift tin that took up almost the Whole box. I open it up and there is a Light Rover, Pouch, 4x123's (2 were extras from my friend). I didnt have a lot of time to stand around because i needed to get to work. I loaded her up with batteries, threw the pouch on my belt and headed out the door. I leave for work about 10:15pm so needless to say it was dark outside. I start the car, get out and pull the light from the holster to check the tires. I push the momentary on and it lit up the whole back corner of the car!!. i was very impressed. finished checking the tires, got back in and came to work. Now that im at work i actually have time to reflect and take a good look at the light.
The one i got was the shiny aluminum one. (which is ironically my finish of choice) They are also available in black. Breaks apart basically into 4 pieces. Head, Body, and the tailswitch breaks apart into 2 pieces.
The light is very nicely balenced. And is a LOT heavier than it looks. It feels extremely sturdy. You could toss it as hard as you could at a car windshield and im willing to wajor it would still work after you dig it back out of the glass.
The knurling on the body is a little larger (bigger squares) than is common on most lights ive seen. But it is easier to hold onto and the knirling is "stickier" then that found on other lights.
I will say that it's very bright and very white and thows suprisingly well for a 1-watt. The inside of the head looks at first glance like it's construction is pretty standard. everything seems to be held in from the inside by an aluminum ring. Shouldnt be too hard to upgrade or mod.
The thing i am most impressed with is the weight and sturdiness. It's my new EDC. Thank you to my friend, who shal remain enonymous unless they choose to reveal themselves, for sending me this awesome little light.
I'll have beamshots and pics of the light itself up later tonight/tomarrow after i get home from work.
This light gets a Hallis Headbang award /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif
