I received my 1 Watt Laser on Sept 20/10
Opening the Package
The Laser arrived in a neat black gift box complete with charger and Safety Glasses
and Everything was nicely wrapped up in bubble plastic.
So no change of it getting damaged in transport
Instruction Sheet
A clear instruction sheet is provided with the laser.
Showing how to insert the batteries
A caution is also shown that inserting the batteries in the wrong way will damage the laser driver. So be warned
The Host
The host is a perfectly machined part.
All the parts screw in correctly and there a no metal shavings on any of the screw threads
Also the clicky switch feels solid and works perfectly every time.
It seems the adjustable lens is installed from the inside of the front
of the host and the focus knob is epoxied to the protruding lens
housing. Then the Laser and Driver get screwed in from the rear of
the front host section locking the Lens assembly in place.
The lens and front window are not removable without unscrewing
the LD/Driver assembly...
There is a 6 months manufacturers guarantee on the laser so that should be ok
The specified batteries fit loosely in the host... but do not rattle..
The host inside diameter was 0.753 and the batteries outside diameter
is 0.650....
Tested Specs
The tests were done with my lm10 thermopile and multimeter.
first test showed 898 mw
and with freshly charged batteries the output went up to 1042 mw
Current Draw at batteries ------- 872mA
Power Output ---------------------- 1042mW
Beam Profile @ 30' ---------------- 19mm X 1.5mm
