Roll Crimp ???

Is it possible to visually look at a AAA head and see if it has the roll crimp? I don't know what I'm lookin for. thank you. dtsoll /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Take the aaa head in your hand with the led pointing away from you. You should be looking at the end that touches the aaa cell. Look at the outer eage of the head and if the aluminum is bent inward it has been crimped.

The image in THIS THREAD shows the roll crimp done to the extreme, but you might be able to get the idea of what you are looking for from it.

The newer black Arc AAAs are roll crimped from the factory, and of course all of the "plain HA III" units produced now are. Unless you have aquired an old pre-V3.1 Arc AAA that hasn't been done by hand, you have a roll crimped Arc AAA.
