I am looking to put a pair of off road lights on my Jeep. It is mostly going to be used at night on beach trails. I narrowed my choice to either the Hella Optilux 4" HID or the Rugged Ridge 6" HID. The price points for both are around 250. If both of these are bad choices, can someone suggest something around my 250 budget. Thanks

Are you looking for more throw - as in a small circle of light a few hundred yards in front of you, or to flood the area right in front of you to see where to steer around/aim for at slower speeds, etc?

A good question. I see "beach trails" and I envision low speed. A lamp designed for a lot of throw with a tight beam will burn holes in your retinas as they reflect off of dunes and such that you may be approaching slowly.

The optilux HID's use a 6k bulb which is a touch blue. If you're ok with that then great. My friend has a pair on her Heep and she uses them all the time.
