This runtime plot is for a Fire~Fly version 2 that uses a Bad Boy at 650mA and a Lux 3 with a Fraen optic. A SureFire CR123 battery was used.

Equiptment used is a Extech Mdl 401021 Light Adapter into a Radio Shack 22-805 multimeter with a PC interface that is using ScopeView software (V 1.08).

The vertical axis is in 0.03v/div and is equivalent to 30Fc @ 1Ft / div. The hroizontal axis is 15 minutes per division.

Be aware that your actual battery milage may vary from that indicated by this runtime plot.

The runtime to 50% max brightness = 57 minutes

As usual, excellent work. Thanks Roy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif Looks good to me, assuming this is on high setting. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

FYI...This is one of DSpeck's fully assembled lights with a Frsen optic. If I read things correctly, this light has a BadBoy 650 with a Lux III.

Here is a side-by-side beam shot of the Fire~Fly on the left and the Fire~Fly-2 on the right....and yes that is pretty much the true color difference!

The Fire~Fly has a MM+ 500ma Q3 sandwich.

My original Fire~Fly has that characteristic "rotten cat urine green" color in its corona, but it is not at all obnoxious, is relatively minor, and I like the flashlight a lot. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Here's a photograph of its beam on the test target from ~12 inches:

firebug3.jpg

Measures 243,000mcd using a Meterman LM631 light meter and the Lisun CR123A cell that was included with it.

That "rotten cat urine green" color you see around the hotspot does exist, but was "amplified" in this photo and does not in any way affect the use of this flashlight. The color is actually very minor and insignificant in real life.

I haven't done a battery discharge analysis though; thank you Roy for taking care of that for us CPFers. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Roy, you seem to be repeating yourself lately - 'Fire~Fly on the left and the Fire~Fly-2 on the left' . /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Oh yeah?!?
Looks like it's right to me! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Thanks for the heads up!
