I was about to order Tenergy batteries with tabs and protective circuit

to replace the recalled magic shine battery pack from Geoman gear….but noticed so many other batteries that were cheaper, so are the Tenergy batteries worth the extra cost?

How am I to recognize protected batteries? Will all batteries work with the PCB? I also need 18650's for a flashlight.
Somewhere I saw a flashlight with the same LED that the Magicshine uses… for less than $20! Now I can't find it. Must have been to good to be true.
Please be aware that I can't answer questions be cause I must ride my bicycle 10 miles in the worst weather over the worst hills just for one hour on the internet. Direct answers with links are best for me.
