Hey folks,

I'd heard of people sanding 5mm leds to get the ringiness and artifacts out- how exactly do I go about this? On a Photon Freedom?

Thanks, Mike

Just go easy with a fine grit.

Got any 1000? Or even 2000?!

Throw goes down and flood increases the coarser you go.

A green Scotchbrite pad works well. You can get one from the grocery store - attached to the back of a yellow dish sponge.

You can actually sand down the LED into a flat surface above the die as long as you don't cut too close to the die. That's another popular option, just grind down the round dome.
