Damned those short subject lines!

My new Madmax Lite WO T bin MiniMag sandwhich creates a square with an offset circle beam at the tightest focus. That is, when I turn the head/optic so that it sits closest to the Luxeon, the image I get on the wall is a square (like it's supposed to be) but it's also a circle that overlaps it. The circle is not centered. It's shifted.

Why is this and how can I correct it? It just bugs me because I want a clean concentration.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Sandwich creates an offset circle on square.

Quick answer: your optic isn't precisely centered.

Do a search, and you will quickly find that the Fraen LP is quite difficult to center.

Some centering tips, at end of thread

I found that the optic was getting tipped a little, which I blame on the tab. I ground most of the tab off, and the problem went away. I use the emitter to center the optic by loosening the bezel, screwing the head down, and tightening the bezel just enough to "lock in" the optic. Then I back the head off and finish tightening the bezel. I'm going to try the heatshrink trick sometime soon.
