Scratches on 18650 Negative Contact Point

I have a Surefire 6P bore to accept 18650 batteries and a Z59 tail switch. The spring on the inside of the tail switch leaves circular scratches on the negative terminal of the AW18650 battery. Will these scratches harm the battery over time? Should I be worried or not? Thanks for your help!

This is pretty much normal if the scratches aren't deep. It happens from the pressure from the spring while the tail is being threaded on.
You may take the tail cap off and sand the spring very lightly with say 1000 grit sandpaper. Make sure there are no sharp edges on the top of the spring. If its being cut badly then there is a sharp edge somewhere on the top off the spring. Most batteries with a pcb have the circuit right on the negative end. So you are really not connected to the actual battery negative. If the spring has to much force you could cut it down or try to rebend part of it for slightly less force.

AWs should have a strong metal plate as negative terminal.... it would take a rambo-strenght spring to do any harmfull damage to one of those ;)
