Second BB500 gone bad!

This is the second BB500 I have had go bad the first was built by the Shoppe and the second by a very good CPF modder. Both had less than two hours runtime on them!

what happend to them. I've got one i built in a royal blue light engine that turned into a direct drive light engine. thank goodness for li-ions

That's pretty unusual. What's the configuration on both that died?

I was using them in a FireFly. They both would still light up but at just a faint glow.

You need to put in a low profile retainer ring. Most likely your modules spun and shorted themselves out on the ring. This has happened to others, myself included. This a design problem with the FF. I'm suprised that it hasn't happend to more people...

That's why I went with the o-ring method of holding the sammie in there.
