Rookie question: Do the Olight Seeker 3 Pro and Seeker 4 Pro require proprietary batteries from Olight?

I'm know that some (?) Olights have that requirement but don't recall which ones those are. But my main concern are those two lights.

As always, if you have an Olight that uses a special version of a cell and this upsets you, it's simple to fix. Glue the the barrel to the head with a strong glue. Now you have an internal battery pack that cannot be replaced, just like many new lights have without any complaints..

A lot of the Olight lights with that proprietary batteries works with normal LiIon cells. The only thing that is not working is that build in charging capability.

But there are now even Olight lights that needs that proprietary batteries to work at all.

It is worth trying the light with a normal LiIon cell to see if it is working or not. If it is working than you can save money and use normal Liions (but you do not have the charging capability.).

Maybe this helps...?

It's been a while since most current Olight models could run on regular cells. The Baton 3 eliminated the support from the S1R II in 2021, for example, and the Baton 4 continues that.
