Hello Everyone
2 years ago I've built my first flashlight following this forum, a P7 in a 3D host. I was quite happy with that until this year when i got a XML powered by an 18650 recycled from laptops (my first li-ion setup) and I realize the you can pump more than 1 AMP to a led
My curent p7 is driven by a 4xAMC 7135 Driver, multipe modes, and feed by some terrible ni-mh rechargable bought from ebay. Since I own now a Imax b6 I've realized how bad those are (no more thatn 3000mAh) and a big voltage sag, even at 0,8 A load
I;ve decide to change those to something else, while staying low on bugdet.
My options are
-since I have 3 pcs 2xAA to D adapter a a coupte of AA 2700 mAh Sanyo I could use those. But I'm not sure how those will perform at 1.4 A max draw ( 0,7 A per cel, since I ill use a 3S2P setup). Will those drop under 3,6 so fast?
-get 6 AA eneloops. Will those stay above 3.6 V under load?
-use the 3D body to fit 2 18650. But then I will need another driver since I understand that the AMC 7135 is not suitable for 8.4 V. What driver is recomended in this setup?
-Get a 32650 Li-Ion (from Kaidomain maybe, but those could be old?). I guess I could cut the body to fit just 1 cell
-Any other options?
Please if you have any suggestion feel free to post
Thanks!

Constant current discharge curves for both Eneloops and Sanyo 2700 AA NiMH cells can be found here, along with many, many other AA NiMH cell types.
