I recall reading that Surefire had a lot of problems with their rechargeables like the 9AN. Did those battery issues ever get resolved?

I have a pair of nicad batteries shipped from Surefire that will discharge at the same rate as other nicads. So, I guess that my problem with the 9AN is resolved.

However, after reading many posts regarding this issue, it is a mixed bag. Some are working and some are not.

Personally, I like the light and it works well for me. It is smaller than my Ultrastinger and Tigerlight, but it does not have their power. I usually grap it because it is easier to carry.

Good reason ... any other comments [good or bad]?

I really like the size and heft of the 9AN - especially when it has the KT3 TurboHead attached. I got solid performances out of my two working B90's.

I have a blue LED as low beam in my 9AN so it's kinda cool too.

It sounds like the battery issue is still a gamble.

Size15s,

The way you phrased your comment it sounds like you have other non-working B90's?

I have loads - it's not so easy to send them back (and I've not pestered SureFire for replacements since I have working ones (I actually have three I think as I found one at the bottom of filing cabineta when I was searching for an SF423AC stick when I visited SureFire...)

If I wanted, I'm sure I could get replacements, but to be honest, I think that SF123A's are far easier to deal with - I mean, no need to recharge them! Result!

I wish the 9AN had an SF123A adapter.

I believe at one point I had six duff B90's. The good thing is that I also have two B92's for my 9NT.

The 10X is my main rechargeable light.

The two B90's I got with my 8ax have been performing flawlessly. And, I don't have any to compare to, but isn't it just 3 C cells? If so, I may make a couple of my own. A good battery pack for an RC car I think would work great. I can get a 6 cell 3300mah nimh pack and a charger...
probably have to take apart the B90s though and reuse parts, as the neg contact is also on the + end.
Strange design, but it's fun to just stick a B90 into the bezel and let my friends freak out.
