I say the G2 is better construction. The fit of the parts and the feel of the tail switch feel better. The brinkmann rubber grip feels, well, rubbery. However, I think the tail switch is much more water resistant. It is completely sealed whereas the G2 switch is not. The brinkmann has a better switch also in that it is momentary and a clickie. The clickie is rather positive also. Very "on" or "off".
Performance wise. I would say it is a toss up. TO ME I say I can't really tell a difference, especially when the brinkmann has 2 fresh SF 123 cells.
The head assembly on the brinkmann does come all the way apart and allows for easier changing of the lens, if required. On that note, I will have to re-examine mine to determine the lens material on the brinkmann. I just can't remember while not having it here in front of me.
