If I have a crap MCA it will probably blow right? But if not I should get an amazingly high output if I am correct.

Well i tried it, there was a little bit of a brightness increase, but since I dont have a laser power tester I just compared it to photos online and I would say its 10-15 mW, I know pretty crappy. You can kind of see the beam in a lit room.

Does anyone know if the resistor mod could improve current more than shorting the pot?

470 Ohm resistor give 400-470mA in current..
and that is perfect !

first 105 green. with pot adj.,, 308 ma short it to case,,570 ma.. wow! question,, what is the spec max current on this diode???? do i have to add a resistor?? wow! did it get bright. first green i got was a 110. removed the black wire from the sensor got brighter. the pot gets very warm and adj it,, no diff. don't guy a 110 yuk

if you have a red mark on the bottom of the diode it can handle 500-550ma I did a resistor mod using lasermods technique search this forum for resistor modification by lasermod

Yeah, the red dot means the diode is a 350mw and can handle more current although I have never had one blow at 550ma (yet) - even the standard 200mw diodes.

how do I measure the current draw with my dmm? I put negative to clip on the laser and positive to the batteries + and 200u reads 1, 2000u reads 1, 20m reads 1 and laser barely has beam, 200m reads one and laser comes on with descent beam. What am I doing wrong here? I just got this dmm and all I know is v... is ac voltage,v~ is dc voltage. and A is for amperes
