That would depend on your chemistry choice. Apples to apples (16340 vs 14500), the D10 has a LONGER runtime.

But because of the form factor, the D10 gives you MANY more choices as to how to power it. Alk, lithium primary, NiMH, Li-Ion, LiFePO4, etc.

Interesting...I didn't know that. I'm going to have to look into the other battery chemistries. Thanks for the insight! :thumbsup:

I can't decide between the NDI-R2, and the D10-R2. I've seen the video and description of the D10, which sounds easy to use, and awesome. I tried to view the NDI-R2 user manual on foursevens, but all i see is Chinese script. The deciding factor is the NDI-R2 interface, and whether there is a clip available for it.

I ordered the D10-R2 today. The interface seemed cleaner, and per the foursevens people a clip isn't avaible for the NDI-R2. Next up, zebra h501.

OK, I pulled the trigger, I bought the D10 R2, i know my incendio is a lil too small for me to operate it and it feel natural......so i figure'd the ex10 would be the same story......in short thats why i bought the D10 I hope I like it.!!. ummmm any batt info whats the best rechargable AA type batt I can put in there i only have two enegizer lion primarys on hand and i also need a charger......i know there is a better forum but i am already here and it pertains to my decision on buying this light

There is a great section on this MB for batteries. I use LSD Duraloops. Hold a charge for a long time and run great with high drain things like lights.

I just got a D10 about a week ago. This was my first light with the infinite level setting. Till now it has been all surefire for me. I cannot tell you how much I like this little guy. Build quality is on par with surefire. If you like the e1 you will like the ex10. I liked th d10 so much I bought a spare, and a ex10.

I hope at some point they make a "ex20" because I will buy one in a heartbeat.

I am debating of buying a Nitecore as well. I am looking at the D20, do you think they will eventually have a R2 for the D20 as well?

I was wondering if anybody can chime in on the tactile feedback of the switch. Under light-review's review it mentioned poor feedback of the switch. "Poor tactile feedback and short travel from the piston drive switching mechanism" Is this a big draw back? How much different is it compared to say the Eagletac and Fenix switches?

This will be my first purchase of a non-surefire light (other than a couple headlamps and a Ra) since this past summer - I am very excited to finally have a good AA option other than my M30s :)

Yeah the only minor complaint you will have is the lack of pocket clip. After years and years of e2's and so on, it was hard for me not to have one. But now I really don't miss it. One of the d10's came with one and I ended up taking it off. Might change come summer and no coat pocket but....

Works for me :D

I never use pocket clips. I always have my knife clipped to my pocket so my light is usually always in my vest/jacket pocket or deep in my back pocket...

Can't say for sure about the D20, but feedback on my D10 is nice. It was a bit stiff when new but that changed after a clean & relube. Been working fine since then (it's #45, from the first run if i'm not mistaken).
It's silent, but you feel the click on your thumb. It helps to give it a good sudden push instead of pressing it slowly.
Momentary operation is trickier, but with a little practice you can tell when the piston comes into contact with the head, and when it pushes the spring further.

I have had an EX10 since a few weeks after they started shipping I have to say I am not too thrilled with it. It does have an excellent output for such a small light and is most certainly a compact EDC light (mine rides along with my keys)...but Im going to have to ship it back tommorow for the second time.
She keeps having the same problems. She will just go into a mode where the twisty head will not work and it will only work in momentary mode and only on only a high output level. Now she flickers on a low level only. Its not the battery as Ive switched that out. Also the bezel keeps unscrewing and falling out on its own. Ive heard it fall on the ground numerous times and luckily been able to find it each time. I guess when I do get it back this time I will have to put some Loc-Tite on it.

If I were able to find another light of the same size/output I would buy it instead.

CPF is fickle, and the NDI was introduced December 2007, which is ages ago in CPF time. That is not to say it is still a great light. The D10 was also revolutionary, bringing an affordable PD light to the masses with a unique UI.

It just depends on which you prefer. The D10 is essentially single mode, were the NDI is 2-mode (both models with those repective modes being user adjustable).

I have both and think you should too! :nana:

The D10 is about as compact as you can get in a AA light, with instant access to either high or low, with a user selectable memory setting that gets erased if you go to another setting. Nothing to tear up your pocket.

With the NDI it will keep you user selected setting if you go to high, or strobe (which does not exist with the D10) and it's a little longer. It also has a crenelated bezel, which tends to be a love/hate situation.

You'll probably end up with both eventually and will probably not feel disappointment regardless of which one you choose now. Without more info I would actually feel comfortable saying just flip a quarter; you can't lose! :wave:

Well, I'll vote for the NDI any day. I don't have anything against the D10, I just prefer the NDI because I like it a bit longer and I like the increased versatility AND the looks.
