Silviron\'s Brass AAA holders

CPF member "Silviron" sent me these.

We have a cloth carry bag, 2 brass battery holders (can also carry pills, etc) and a novelty knife (press the button, out pops the blade).

The battery holders have rubber boots in them to protect the battery from shorting out. I received 2 versions, one plain brass and the other has a birth stone (your choice) and an aunch symbol.

Please contact Silviron if you would like to purchase these for yourself.

One test I would like to try is to see if the holders are waterproof. They also would be good for carrying strike anywhere matches.

I would have got to these sooner but I have been behind on processing my mail. Hasn't stopped me from playing with them for the past couple of weeks though.

Re: Silviron\'s Brass AAA holders

Thanks a lot for posting this Peter. I appreciate it.

The battery holders are waterproof (at least overnight in the sink) with a AAA battery in them.

I'm not sure whether they would be waterproof without the battery though, as the battery forces the O-ring into making a very tight seal. I'll have to run a test to see if it will leak without the battery.

That "Made in India" sticker came from the bag- not the tubes.

The tubes are machined in New Jersey, and I do the rest.

Hey Silviron-these are really cool. What is that ball chain?Brass or gold?I had never really considered having a holder for a battery, but is a really good idea.It would be the perfect accesory for the guy who ends up with one of the brass Arcs.

Yeah, right, Gold! That's the ticket!

No not really. These are gold plated steel.

I CAN provide real gold ball chains (around $375 each) for the chain. Figure $2,300 for a 14K battery holder tube and chain.

If I had a lathe, I'd knurl these to make them match the brass ARCS!

Re: Silviron\'s Brass AAA holders

I ran a test on these with matches in them instead of batteries. Most of them leak a little bit without the battery in it to force a tight seal.

However, a couple of wraps of teflon tape around the threads seal them very well with matches etc. in them.
