simple mag dissasembly question

hi
i have a 2 aa cell mag

i removed the bulb and reflector cup


their is a black plastic rotating disk i'd like to dissamble it as my batteries leaked and i can't get them out gonna try pushing end to end

anyway so how do you remove that top plastic thing the bulb plugs into safely??

Gently pry it loose. It just snaps in place to act as the switch and to keep the lamp assembly in place. Of course if the batteries spewed they may have gotten goo up into the switch mechanism and glued it together.

As he said gently pry it loose WHILE THE BATTERIES ARE STILL IN THE LIGHT.

Typically I use my teeth.

When you do this you will see another black plastic componenet that has a small metal tab that runs from the center of the black plastic to edge of the light where it makes contact with the light body.

This is what is responsible for turning the light of and on. It will fall out of the black plastic if the the batteries are removed carelessly and you just allow the whole assmbly to just drop out of the light.

ahh some good advice and safty "" tips i'll try this later and see if i can salvage the light i believe it seems it only leaked a drop near the bottom

but thats enough to act like glue holding that batt in once i get the top off and give her a push .....
