I found a bright red SiPiK AA 280 lumens light on the Meritline website this morning. Here are the specs:

  • Emitter Brand/Type: CREE
  • Emitter BIN: Q5
  • Color BIN: White
  • Brand: SIPIK
  • Total Emitters: 1
  • Battery Configurations: 1 x AA (not included)
  • Voltage Input: 0.8~4.2V, 4.2 V max
  • Switch Type: Clicky/Clickie
  • Switch Location: Tail-cap
  • Modes: 3
  • Mode Memory: Circuitry Features Mode Memory
  • Mode Arrangement: Hi > Mid > Strobe
  • Circuitry: Digital Regulated 3000mA Current Output
  • Brightness: 280 lumens maximum brightness (manufacturer rated)
  • Runtime: 100 Minutes (manufacturer rated)
  • Lens: Plastic zoom convex Lens
  • Reflector: Aluminum Smooth / OP Reflector
  • Carrying Clip: no
  • Carrying Strap: Included
  • Other Features: Stainless Steel Assault Crown

What's interesting is it doesn't come up when searching for SIPIK. There is also a green and blue version, or a 3-pack with one of each on that website. Otherwise, it looks like an SK-68.

Cool. I have been using my black Sipik for a full year now at work. It looks pretty scruffy as a lot of the black paint has worn away, and the clip came off but that was my fault for not tightening the bolts when it got loose, but other than that it still works perfectly. A lot of people on here criticise cheap lights from China but imo this is better than many that cost several times the price.

Interesting specs for this light. the Max 4.2 voltage means it can use Li Ion 14500. Thats possible. BUT.... the claim of 3000mA current output stretches belief. If true, the plastic lens won't last long.....

If I do decide to pick up one of these, I would probably just run it on an Eneloop. I wonder what the Mid mode is (100 lumens?).

Just a guess, but 280 lumens is probably LED lumens with a 14500 battery. I would expect an eneloop would only give around 100ish on high. Someone else might have a more accurate reading for it though. My guess is purely speculation.

Thanks for posting the product description Danielight. I ordered the three light set about a week ago. Meritline has now changed the specs to 1-mode. Your copy and paste job is the only archive I can find of the original specs. I will probably give them hell if they arrive 1-mode.

Of course, I always take the product descriptions on these Chinese websites with a grain of salt. If you go down the entire list, most of the stated specs are dubious at best.

I cannot find these lights on meritline, can someone post a part # or tell me where to find it?

I did see Meritline's post for the three-light set (including a red, blue, and green light, right?). From what I could tell, those are one-mode lights. The red SiPiK appears not to be available at this time, but I have seen these lights come around again, so keep your eyes open (I'm on Meritline's e-mail list). The closest thing I can find on their website now is a three-mode black flashligh w/o a pocket clip that runs on AAs or 14500s.

google "sipik colors". The three light set was definitely advertised as 3-mode and then changed.

I just got a Black and a couple of Grey ones, would have ordered the Reg-Green-Blue three pack, but of course I saw it just after receiving my order.

The specs on the black had the higher Lumen rating like the red above. All three (2 greys,1 black) perform the same on the 8 pack of Ikea Alkalines I have. All three have the same model number "SK68-3W 1AA" silkscreened on the side.

I have been out of the loop for a while; Can you guys point me to a decent (2X price of the light max) 14500/charger combo for use on these SiPik 68s?

Thanks.
