Well, I ordered a Streamlight 4AA 7LED for a friend...and just had to compare it to some of my favorite lights. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Streamlight 4AA 7LED vs. :

M*Mag w/BB400 - overall impression that SL is brighter, broader
Attitude - Definitely brighter and the 1st time I felt bad about the PT backspill
UK 4AA AS2 - Definitely the winner for spotlighting anything

Up until now, my favorite combo is using the PT Attitude with the AS2 in my pocket to occasionally spotlight items of interest. Now...I am VERY impressed with the SL 7LED; fits in the hand nice, smooth beam, bright, inexpensive!

So... I'm still stickin' with the Attitude + AS2.

I think for camping or backpacking the Rage + Attitude combo is still a great choice. Although, I might put some tape on the barrel to mask the backspill. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

good to hear from you, Ikendu. you havent been posting much lately. i purchased our attitudes based upon your recommendations, and i am still pleased with them.

i used black spraypaint to stop the backwash--worked perfectly and only took a few minutes (yeah, i could have used a rage body, but i didnt know about that until after i painted them).

yes, the 4aaled is a very nice and highly functional light. bright too. i recommend it to non-flashaholics--they are always amazed with it.

take care,
Bob

Pedalinbob, why do yo only recommend it to non-flashaholics? I really like the SL4AA. Does than mean I'm not a flashaholic, even though I have it, an Arc LS, a yellow CMG infinity, numberous Arc AAAs and older M*gs? I would think all would appreciate the SL4AA as a usefull light, even if it cost under $30.

No disrespect, I just want to see if I can tell my wife I'm NOT a flashaholic everytime I want to buy a new light...

Bob
