Hi,

Great forum - first post.

I have a number of flashlights and am particularly interested in well made tiny and bright models. I have a Lummi Wee Ns and Raw Ns (great quality and v bright!). Do you have any suggestions for anything smaller/brighter/better? How do the Drake/Draco compare to Lummis? Any views please would be very much appreciated.

Cheers.

:welcome:

IIRC the draco has highest lumen-per-cc number, and the output is about the same as the WEE. But for thumb sized flashlights, i doubt you can get anything brighter than the RAW.

Its not as small as the lights you've mentioned, and in a whole different price range, but the quark mini 123 is pretty darn small.
I guess if you are looking at lummi's and draco's it would also be a fairly small price for you.

You'd be hard pressed to beat a Maratac AAA, running on Li-Ion 104440 batteries, for size and brightness. This light is my new favorite keychain light.

It is less than 1.5 times bigger than a Draco, brighter than a Draco, considerably less money than a Draco, and longer runn time than the Draco because of the 10440 battery.

Don't get me wrong. I love the Draco and still EDC it (in my shirt pocket), along with the Maratac (on my keychain), but if something bad happens to the Maratac, I'm only out 22 bucks, not $150 for the Draco.

think the Raw NS with the highest light engine is it so far, cannot think of anything smaller and brighter just yet.

For lights using a power led, the Drake reigns supreme, and the only way the Wee can beat it for output is to buy it with the high output option, which leaves you with a super bright one trick pony. Good if a super bright tiny light is what you want and having it a little smaller yet, plus 3 brighness levels, one of them user selectable is of no interest.
There are many fans for both lights, but if you have no problem with funds and having a light which can do not only 3 modes, but very low and very high as well!
I get at least a week or two between charges on my Drake or Draco.

Very many thanks for all your interesting replies.

Cheers.

Gary
