Smallest Operational Laser

I've been in serious need of a laser for a 22 target pistol I own, the laser needs are for training purposes and there isn't a laser built for this make of pistol, it's built in Switzerland and there just aren't any mods or aftermarket parts avaliable for it but I have access to a mill and lathe and between me and my father (Machinist of 30+years) I'm sure we can come up with a housing to fit the pistol..

The laser needs to fit in a packaged size around .75 wide .5 tall and 1 inch in length... Also visible in semi daylight conditions......

Any and all thoughts and ideas apreciated...

Sorry lasernerd there isn't a product built for this particular pistol, I'm machining a integrated mount for it, first reason to machine a original pieces would because I don't want bulk of some of these crapy tactical lasers and the other factor is I can make the tolerences to my spec and gain the precision I need....

The laser assembly I have on hand is .8 in length and .450 in diameter and has to take 3 small watch batteries L1154's I'm guessing I can down size the batteries some but it leaves the question of what batteries to use and how I can run the to take up the least amount of length in the final assembly...

BTW: the laser assemble I have on hand is a older pistol laser sight that I dismantled to see how small I could possibly get the unit to be and if I could get it to fit into the small "package" size

I would like to hear of some diffrent options for other smaller laser modules that just have to be hooked up to batteries to opperate and different ways to stack the batteries to maintain a very low profile....

They build there lasers into a made to match hand grip and then lay the batts.flat side by side.

Do you know of the type of laser diode they use to acheive the small size? And where I might be able to find just a diode? I figured I would have to lay the batteries out flat but wasn't very sure on types of laser diodes to use for my desired result....
