Hello,

I'm using 7.4v Li-ion packs with no balance tap and I'm looking for a good "smart charger".....

I pretty much want to be able to plug in my battery and it ends up charged...Sort of like the Lupine charger that came with my Piko...

Obviously the faster the charge would be better and just a simple red/green charge indicator light would be awesome!

Thanks!

This doesn't make sense. Are they home-made packs or commercial packs?

If they are commercial packs, you should use the charger that came with them.

If they are home-made packs...why would you make them this way?

Guess I should have been more specific.....The batteries are a mix of home-made and store bought 7.4v 2S Li-ion 2600mah packs made with either LG or Tenergy 18650 cells....The store bought packs did not come with a charger.

They are used solely for mtb lights....

If you look around there are no bike light companies that use balance taps/leads....The batteries are just plug in one connector and charge....

I'm looking for a good quality simple charger for these batteries....Something like this one.....I was looking for someone with experience with this type charger..

OK, I see. But that site you linked to seems to have several battery packs and chargers that are designed to just plug in and charge up. It seems like that then is the kind of charger you are looking for?

I don't have any experience of those, so we will have to wait for someone else to come along who has. Have you tried posting specifically in the bike lighting forum concerning bike lighting systems and chargers?

My expectation would be that those battery packs have a control PCB inside them that includes a balancing function. But perhaps the manufacturers skip that step and just trust to luck...
