So first off I wanna buy myself a decent led torch, Ill be using it for camping mainly, maybe abit of fishing/diving.. (never had a decent torch and dont know alot)
I'd like to keep it under 100bucks
So far Ive come up with -

Jetbeam - III r5 and the Olight m21-x

Been reading alot of reviews on the 2 they both look pretty cool, just abit concerned about a couple of negs on the jetbeams build quality?
also on the underwater capability of the 2, in one video the m21 went down to 70ft for an hour and was still good.. pretty sure they both have the same water rating?

so anyways any help would be much appreciated!

or any other suggestions on other lights under 100

cheers!

If DIVING is a primary interest, none of these are dive lights per se. IPX8 ratings on water resistance mean typically they are good down to ~ 6', for 30+ minutes or so,....as a rating.

If you go to 70' for example, you are deeper than their ratings...and, while one or two examples exist for any given light of surviving deeper dunks...it doesn't mean that your example will be submersible to deeper on a regular basis w/o a leak, etc.

So, what kind of depths and durations did you have in mind?

Also - Depending on the water clarity/turbidity, etc...none of those lights typically puts out enough light to be of much use anyway.

Also, for camping, you tend to use floodier beams than those lights have, so you can light a task, like setting up a tent or tying knots, or, getting up at 3 am to take a leak w/o blinding yourself/waking your tent-mates/neighbors, etc. Those lights tend to have tighter beam focus, so the spot is small...and you don't see much at a time, etc.

Post a few more times, so that you can accept PM's, I saw two gently used dive lights for $80 on another site. Can't post that stuff in the thread but I can pm it to you if you had more posts.
