So Many Choices!!!

One of my friends is celebrating her birthday tonight. Since she's kind of a club kid, I thought a nice colored LED would be in order. I checked out the camping and dedicated light section at Target for the first time in perhaps a year.

Omigod! I remember when the only LEDs available were little crappy penlights. Target now has LEDs everywhere! Dorcys, Inovas, Gerbers, Rock Rivers, Eddy Bauers, Brinkmans and a couple of other brands. Just in Inova, they had the little keychain microlights (bought one for my friend, one for my GF), X5s, X1s, and three different sizes of Radiants. Eddy Bauer had something like 7 different models, Gerber had 4 models I believe, RR had something like 6, and so forth. Just a couple years ago, I would have gladly settled for any one of about 10 different lights Target had for $35 or less- and been willing to pay much more- and I wouldn't feel inconvenienced with those lights today.

LEDs are obviously coming into their own, and I for one am overjoyed. :D

And dont call you Shirley? :)Yeah LED have really grown from what they started as, and now are rapidly taking over. With their longer run times, longer life, durability, and brightness that is starting to rival incadenscents, it is hard to argue against them. I dont bother trying :).

It is nice to see them filling up the isle's i agree.This would mean to me, alot more exposure and increased sales and developement.

Can only mean good things for all of us, except the Incan lovers, and those that absolutley need them, may make thier market tighter,costlier and slower.

A part i really like, is people expecting light when they go flick on thier cheapy lights, should now light and maybe be of use to them and changing a large mindset of the Flashlight market, emphasis being on the Flash part.

I mean, most people have had a bulb blow on them at one point and gravitated towards the M*G, thinking if LEO's use them, thier the best, and they were for a long time but, yeah the but, they often were neglected untill needed and had crappy batts,and or the bulb was near burning out. SO hence,they either had poor light or non at all and yet still had a flashlight in thier possesion.If you have a light and it dont light, is it still a light, maybe to you, the one that paid for it, but those around in that time of need see a stick, no more no less and of no help.

These may actually save a few people when they need to be used and are.

Not me, in all my years of using cheapo and not so cheapo flashlights I don't remember a single bulb failing. It was always the batteries that went, either because they were Carbon-Zinc or because I left the flashlight on. For the average occasional flashlight user this will still be a problem.
