Soft Starter without multimode?

Just in case you don't know. AW's soft start has a memory, so if you turn it off on high, it comes back on on high. It doesn't force you to go through the modes.

I was wondering the same thing for a mod I'm just getting rolling on. I just placed an order for a KIU socket kit, and am wondering if I can squeeze a micro controller and MOSFET into the remaining space of a Mag C switch (a very tight fit if it even works). It isn't completely necessary for what I have in mind, but I'd like to at least try the experiment.

In the mean time it might be possible to get a one-off from AW that disables the multi-mode. It wouldn't hurt to ask if it is a feature you really want. You'd probably also have to specify if you want it to act as a momentary 'tactile' button or 'normal' bi-stable toggle button - which I assume would be the reason why this won't be a mass-produced option in the near future...it just costs too much to have different product lines/options.

an NTC is a less sophisticated, very "robust" way to fight the initial cold strike voltage/current spike.
Very easy to build into lights
but - primarily - it works really good. Better than regularly :poof:ing bulbs without any means of protection.

Sure, a soft starter circuit is the nicer solution
