Saw these at Lowes with plain blades and another SOG with serrated blade.

I don't have but one self fast opening knife (little Kershaw Chive) and I don't know what make of the bigger knives.

It appeared to have a safety. If so how easy is it to use?

Yes, it's a standard lockback with a little safety slide just below the lock release or whatever it's called. The safety slide clicks forward and backward and prevents the lock release from being depressed, so it "safetys" the lock both closed and open. I find the safety very easy to use, but I don't really use it, since the lock itself is secure enough for me.

I like my Twitch. It feels very solidly built. It's my only nice knife though. All my other decent knives/tools have been Gerber or Leatherman.

I have a Twitch II and a Twitch XL. Very nice knives, IMO. I would recommend them for EDC without hesitation. I like the fact that they are super thin, so you never feel them in your pocket, and they flick open quickly and smoothly. :twothumbs

Biggest is Twitch XL
Next smaller is Twitch II ( I gift these )
I carried a Twitch XL ( plain blade) for a year and then rotated to a Kershaw Leek. The Twitch XL is truly brilliant. The assisted open is really perky. Almost as fast as my slowest auto. The lock is very brilliant! And the spine release is extra brilliant! Also, after struggling with the S30V Leek blade, the Twitch's Aus8 is a dream to keep sharp by comparison. The only 2 aspects of the leek that I preferred were:
- modified Wharncliff blade profile
- less obtrusive flipper on the Leek, makes dealing with food much easier than the Twitch XL.
Having said this. I gifted my Leek to my neighbor and have gone back to the Twitch XL. Hurray! SOG won this round.

I have a Twitch II and I find it to be of very good quality. It's slim profile rides comfortably clipped in my pocket. Opening is smooth and the blade is useful enough for most edc chores.

It simply must be said that I would NEVER carry a good knife for a work day EDC.

I treat my "Superknife" folding interchangeable blade pretty bad. I cut hoses off of fittings, boxes open (often with staples under the tape) etc.

That is NO WAY to treat a knife! But I can get blades for this one easily and it flicks open one handed which no other knife of this type has done in my testing.

Benchmades and any other decent stuff (like the SOG) will be weekend EDC stuff.

Thanks for the opinions and by all means keep 'em coming!

Huh? I carry what I use, and use what I carry. I sold off all my Safe Queens ages ago. A SOG twitch is a mule- designed to be used. No knife is supposed to be abused, no matter how cheap. Mora's are a different story however. They are disposable knives.
