I was browsing Amazon this evening for solar cell phone chargers and started wondering if there are any solar chargers out there that would power a battery charger. I've got a Pila charger, a Tenergy 3.0V charger and a Speedy Box for my larger C and D cells. I'm looking for something that is small enough to sit on a well-lit window sill or the kitchen table rather than something that would need to be hauled in from the garage with a furniture dolly. Any proven hardware out there? Thanks.

Does the Pila have a 12vdc input jack on the side?

I have the Maha C9000, LaCrosse BC-700 and the Xtar WP2 II Li-Ion chargers and they all have provisions for 12vdc charging, so I built a rigid panel solar charging emergency rig.

You can see it here, but it's not something that's all that small.

If you want a solar charging panel that is small, look towards the PowerFilm F15-600, foldable panel which outputs 10w/600mA. It's small, but not window sill small, however it's of good quality.

Good luck, Chris

I've got a goal zero setup that works fairly well. It comes with panel, charger, light, and 4 AA's for about 130 bucks. The charger is like a battery pack with a small led light on it, I also have a usb LED light strip that is much brighter.

Pila IBC power adapter:

6.0v / 2.5a

Might want to look into a cottonpicker's...they aren't terribly expensive, and you can get the charger and solar panel at once.
