Solarforce drop in question

I put a Solarforce drop in in a Surefire 6P host and had to remove the large spring to get it to fit. How will this effect it's use as a weapons light? The drop in is P/N SOLLC1 It's a LC1 Cree R2 led. Bought from Lighthound

I had to do exactly the same thing with my 6P. Also, because mine is a 6P LED, I had to buy a head from Lighthound because the original Surefire head would not take a normal P60 drop-in. The bezels are different, too.

It really should not effect anything. On my 6p though it was not a good fit and the module kept rattling so I customized the spring to fit and that took care of the problem.
