Solarforce l2-s7 disassembly

hello all,

i want to change the rubber boot on my s7 switch but im not sure how to do it without ruining the switch, therefore im asking you for help;)

In the S7 the easiest way is to drill two holes through the metal disk and the plastic disc behind it. Then You can use thin pliers, tweezers or scissors to screw the discs out.

I used this instructions, but I think it might be easier to drill two holes like the one in the picture before the last picture and just screw the metal ans plastic disc together out without further disassembling the switch.

The problem isn't to disassemble, but to put together again.

This is how I managed to do it:
1/ Pull the spring
2/ Just remove the boot by pulling it out
3/ Push a screwdriver onto the center "button" from outside, and loosen the hex screw from inside
4/ Loosen/unscrew the outer plate with needle-nose pliers
5/ Replace the rubber booth, and secure the threaded plate (from step #4) with the little button-part - do this "upside down"

Now the tricky bit...
6/ Place the tailcap, rubber down, on a hard surface, and insert the metal disc with the hex screw
7/ Vigorously push the tailcap onto the surface, creating friction between the rubber and the little center push button, and secure the hex screw
8/ Refit the spring

Sorry I assumed it was like 90% of tail cap switches on Flashlights, I haven't seen an Solarforce l2-s7

The little circular metal thing below the spring is a screw which holds the innards of the switch in. The trick is keeping the the rest of the inside of the switch still while you unscrew it. You can do this by pressing very very hard on the rear of the switch boot while screwing, or you can pull out the boot and use a screwdriver or tool to hold the innards in place while you unscrew the small metal circle screw from the other side.

Hello,

this thread inspired me to reassemble my L2-S7 switch. This gave me the opportunity of some quick and dirty pictures.
The upper picture shows the two holes You should drill. If the switch is not assembled too tight, then You can now screw out the switch with tweezers or pliers. You have to drill through the metal disc and the plastic disc behind it. DON'T drill through the switch body. If this doesn't work or You are afraid of ruining Your switch, take out the switch boot. Then You can hold the small plastic part in the middle with pointy scissors or a similar tool and turn the screw on the inside with an allen key. Before You reassemble the switch, You must drill the holes through it.

I have, you have to press on the rubber boot really hard to hold the rear of the inside in place, while screwing the little centre screw pin back in from the other side.
