Solarforce Skyline switch question

So I was taking apart the new skyline just looking through it and i managed to tear up the switch, just wanting to know if a switch for an L2 would work fine. I know it would lose variable output and strobe but I would prefer that anyway.

I always have at least 2 lights on me so I would use a smaller light instead of going through the trouble of lowering the skyline's output.

Have looked around quite a bit and what little info that is available for the skyline doesn't mention if the L2 switch would work. Best I could tell the bodies are the same diameter but not for sure.

hrm... I think the skyline's circuitry is all in its tailcap! that being said, it wont work on 2CR123As! (too high voltage)

will work on 18650s fine, though.

The dome off my Skyline's R2 just came off. The LED still works and has dropped in output as well as gotten a warm white colour.

Any suggestions for me? I've only had it a few days and it wasn't mistreated in my hands but the envelope that it came in from overseas leaves much to be desired.

Actually it's made for being run on 2 123 primaries at 6v not rcrs at 7.4

I would bet that the reflector wasn't perfectly centered when you screwed the head on and it crushed the led dome. Very easy to do since it isn't a sealed head that can be taken fully apart and if you don't pay attention.

That may be possible. there doesn't appear to be any damage on the dome though. Is it possible to put it back on with some type of adhesive?

Not that I know of but I thought I had read on here that if the dome falls off an led while lumens will go down the LUX will go up so for a thrower it may actually be a good thing. I may be misremembering though

I meant, if you remove the circuitry(by swapping caps), it will not work on 2 123s.. oops!

csshih is correct. The driver is in the tailcap. The driver is for 3.7-6V, so 1x18650 or 2xCR123's is fine. DO NOT run 2xRCR123(16340)

I remember reading this too. The real die size is much smaller than the apparent die size. The dome acts as a lens, making the die look bigger. As we all know, the smaller your point of light, the better the throw. Yes, there will be a reduction in output, but the throw should increase.
