Hi everyone ,

Today I would like to proudly introduce the the newest member of the CPF family X9

The heat sink for this monster is machined from a solid block of 3" aluminum. Sitting next to it is an XML on a 16mm PCB.

I had to trim a little off the base of the pedestal for the driver to fit, but you get the idea.

The X9 features one of the best quality drivers on the market today, the Taskled HBFlex which delivers up to 3000ma per die to the 9 Cree XML U2 bin LEds for an astounding six thousand plus lumen output!

The driver will come programmed to the buyer specif actions for modes. The light is also equipped with a temperature monitoring sensor and low voltage protection.

Now for the happy thoughts! First some close range stuff, about 30 yards to the trees.

Single SST-90 NW 1000 lumens OTF.

Re: FS: 6120 OTF lumens!

Thanks all for the kind words.

The host is a 6D maglite. I threaded the head of another aluminum light to fit it. The light is powered by 5 26650s.

FS: 6120 OTF lumens!

Amazing work. There was a time before I became one of those insufferable tint snobs that I'd have sold my dog for this.

Re: FS: 6120 OTF lumens!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that thing pulls 27 amps (minimal)...?!

A monster.

A mutant.

A threat to society.

I like it!

Someone with the dough, pick this guy up!

Thanks man. About the 27 amps thing. If all the LEDs were wired in parallel, yes it would be right around 27A, but they are wired in series ( with a boost regulator) so 27 27 A divided by 5 li-ion gives roughly 5.4-6 amps at the tail.

Re: FS: 6120 OTF lumens!

Whats the runtime of this beast?

if it pulls 5.4-6 amps at the tail and you use 5x king kong 4000mah in series ... you would get 40-44 minutes of runtime (theoretically)... probably just under 40 mins in reality due to voltage sag and the high current... mnke imr 3700 would be slightly less

Re: FS: 6120 OTF lumens!

Bump! Man, what is this thing still doing here!! Awesome build Matt. Is this not the most powerful LED light out there right now??

Re: FS: 6120 OTF lumens!

I just wanted to say thank you for getting this out to me so quickly, and for the quality build. This light is a joy to use. And, I’m particularly impressed with not only its output, but how the light is dispersed within the first 50 yards. Literally half a football field is completely lit up! Thanks again, and I look forward to your future builds!
