This thing is WAY cool, what do you typically use something like this for?

I usually use the knurled Luce to file/buff my nails, then shine the light on them to see how smooth they are. :devil:

Take a look at the original sales thread. It is just a night light--for moving around your house when it is pitch black and you don't want to turn on the lights.
