You're not alone...

For people who are still confuzzled, here's maybe another example:

Double bummer.

And here I was feeling good that I know what goes up a chimney down but doesn't go down a chimney up.

Normally it would be read
"re is in Japan"
I can't get past that and Thought maybe seeing it
writen would help someone else.

If anyone does figure out what it means post it please!

I'm starting to think Japan is not used though.
So Jarepan or Ja(low)repan or Ja(small)repan.
Anybody? :-?

It may be a stretch...

reinstate (re in state)

This depends on interpreting JAPAN to be State of Japan - reincountry and reinnation just don't make sense. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Doh! it's REINCARNATION! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ohgeez.gif
re in car nation (Japan being a car-building nation)
/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif

WOW!! I'm impressed!!

Good thoughs from BF Hammer but I'm not sure that's it. If that was the case, why would the country of Japan be picked? Wouldn't it make more sense to pick a US state, ie
TEreXAS?

Geepondy might not have seen the definitive answer in the middle of the message because it was written in yellow text - difficult to read if his color scheme has a light background. I have edited out the color formatting.

BTW thanks Sasha and Dan, I spent about 45 minutes staring at that puzzle. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It is either it, or the puzzle maker has created a puzzle with multiple solutions. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oh, I see, I didn't see the last part of the orignal post. Maybe it is reincarnation. Hopefully a difinitive answer will be forthcoming.
