Some Gratuitous Beamshotz

Candle Power Forums

Help Support Candle Power:

Get an HID then. The bulb it self (D2S HID) heats to hundreds of degrees but the Lumens Per Watt smoke Incandescents. Incans do put out wider spectrum but radiation goes into IR. LED's just loose power into heat sink. My 35 watt X990 is as bright as a Tong Sol 250 watt PAR bulb. No heat comes out of it (X990) yet the Tung Sol can acually light paper on fire 1 foot in front of it. Tell me where 1/2 of that energy is going... WASTED IR!

Thomas Edison invent that OLD STUFF a long time ago-Obsolete!

LED's and HID's don't burn out in 10 hours! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dedhorse.gif

Dude,

Don't get bent crusading for what you love. It's all fun. Plenty of toys for all sorts of boys without dissing like it really means something. You got beamshots to put up? If so, I'd like to see them.

Some beam shoots. All 100 feet away of white tool shed at rainy night. 5 watt xt/hp vs L6 very close. Pictures tell a lot of words. Nikon still working...

Hi Ya Wilkey /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink2.gif

Good thread topic just to have a little fun /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nana.gif I was looking for some of my blunders but most of them have met Mister Delete button /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif

Sorry I'm running short on incan shots right now but I do have some HID pic's that I never posted.

Here we have a Blitz pic where the operator got in the way /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink2.gif

Flashahol must have had the best of me this night to set the tri-pod up in the middle of the road for a beam shot.

Here's my newest and favourite...albeit from possibly the most inelegant lighting setup ever.

20W GE Miniature Metal Halide in borrowed reflector, on the ceiling from about 7 feet. Is rather impressively bright, my camera's exposure control kinda died though thanks to that fact!

That last one, the beam is actually considerably brighter to the eye, but is the first one that I've ever actually managed to capture with the camera!

Trying to do my little piece of the sun, I bought a 12V 100W H3 for my rechargable lantern.

Only to find out it (lantern) runs on 6V... sigh /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif

Oh well, at least I have a bright back up light on my truck... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
