On the Ano, all of there "military" have "flat finishes"...pretty much anythnig the military purchases has to be in a flat "tone"
On the filters, IIRC, they use Kodak photography film, to get "true" colors. And anyone that has used an non SF red filters and get's that ugly orange color knows what I'm talking about. With SF filters, you get true red and true blue...and yes, using Kodak Photofilm is more expensive (they could have gone the cheap route, but didn't), but that's part of SF..."Is this the best stuff we can use???" and they apply it to there products.
Unfortunately, they're going away from the complete modularity that they used to have, but I think it was becoming a headache for the non-flashaholic customers...this adapter, that adapter, this spacer, that spacer...so, get those old parts while you can....SF LEGO'S ROCK!!!
