With the KL1, KL4, new tailcaps and SF's disinterest in selling just bodies, I wonder if there would be a market for someone to must make body tubes? I could see the E1, E2 and standard 2 cell series being pretty handy.

Somebody could make individual battery tubes. They could sell three in a kit, and you could screw them together, depending on how many batteries you wanted. It would be nice to include a built in E to C adapter on maybe a fourth body tube.

Great idea! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Sounds pretty close to a UBH......although it doesn't get short enough....Doug is working on some single battery length tubes I believe....

Yup
Doug is working on the extension tube for the UBH. Unfortunately, you cannot just combine 3 Extensions to get UBH because their tailcaps is just different with surefire's

1) Does anyone know when Doug might offer a 3rd run of the UBH?

2) For the purpose I was discussing, a $55 kit is kind of overkill - you could just go buy an E2.

Thanks,

I sent Doug an email, and he replied that he is planning a UBH run for August. He told me to watch the boards for details.

I have informed the machinist about the run of UBHs in August (should be about 2nd or 3rd week in August to do the machining), so you can expect the pre-orders to open up late July/early August.

I have drawn up and submitted for quote two designs of tailcap modules to fit the battery extension tubes. I'll find out what the quote will be this coming week. They will simply screw into the female end of the tube, and will allow one to use either the Kroll TCS or the E-series tailcaps, depending on which model you have. Being totally different TCSs, they each need a different design. The male end will fit either an E-series head, a KL1 head, or a McLux head (same threading). If you want to take the idea even further, you could attach an E2C and use a standard-sized SF head as well. In fact, if there was interest, I could even do a 3rd design for a standard-sized SF TCS...

How's that for modular... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

DSpeck-- are you planning on making any more of the one cell extenders to make an E2e into an "E3e" I would like one so that I could run a nascar p91 mod. Thanks mike
