I remember reading posts that mentioned online sources for cases to put memory cards in and batteries but now I can't find the posts. Can anyone provide me with the links?

Thanks,
Robert

I have a few of the Inanycase cases and the AAA/AA cases are great albeit not waterproof. Their other rubber insert cases were a little heavy to tote around though, and since they were all based on the same plastic case some had alot of wasted space internally. I do use them to store cells from open packages at home though.

I think it was mine. Radio Shack has been closing out some small cases for data cards that zip on 3 sides, and hold 6 123 batteries perfectly.

What I would like to find a solution for is a case that will hold 2 123 size batteries. Just enough for a quick reload on my SF's if needed. I want it to be small, in other words just large enough to hold the two batteries without them moving around or short-circuiting. I would like for it to be waterproof as well. The reason I say this is because I am wanting a package that will be suitable for EDC. I already have enough junk in my pockets as is, so that's why I am trying to keep it small.

The only things I have found that are even close are a waterproof match container(too short) and an empty pill bottle(right size with some foam wrapping the batteries, but not waterproof).

Any other ideas?

I like the battery cases that Thomas Distributing have. They have 4 AA cases that will also hold 4 AAA, and 2 AA cases that will also hold 3 AAA.

The only 123 battery holders that I know of are made by Arc Flashlight. Their LS will hold one 123, kind of pricey but bright. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Kingston sells their SD flash cards in a good case. Some others either don't supply a case, or like Panasonic, they give you a case that's prone to open on it's own. I suppose a piece of duct tape would cure what ails it though.

I bought the matchboxes Ailsnail shows at WalMart for 99 cents. Fits 2 123's perfectly (they have about 3-4 millimeters of travelup and down, which I fixed by cutting round circles of hobby foam [from the fabric section at WalMart] and putting them in the top and bottom). They also have a cool flint fire starter on the bottom!

Are these matchboxes too small?

Actually yes they are like an 1/8" too short. I have one of those, only in OD green though. I too, thought it would be the perfect container.

EDIT:Hmm, after pondering this more, maybe there is some variance in the length of these matchboxes. I'll keep checking.

Hi Jason. I use Advantix film cases (Fuji brand won't work). 2 batteries JUST fit side by side. I use some Scotch tape to hold the lid on - the batteries are in there tight enough to make the lid come off easily if you don't tape it.

please report your findings, rebel. I thought about using those matchboxes for a headlamp battery container, will update here when I get them.

Have you tried it yet?

I have three of them; great battery cases, but no sparks! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I also have one of those arc cases, did you know they come with an led to check the battery. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well I finally acquired one from Walmart. It was $0.87 and bright orange. I compared it to the OD green one I got from the surplus store. The green one is just a little bit shorter. The orange one from Walmart is the perfect length.

I plan to isolate my batteries with some cardboard or plastic inbetween then and a small amount of foam rubber on each end. This should keep them from rattling or shorting out.

I have also thought about putting half a dozen waterproof matches in there for emergencies. Of course they would be wrapped in a tiny ziplock bag. Anybody see any problem with storing them that way next to the batteries?

These little matchbox cylinders make great mini-survival kit containers if you know how to pack them.
