Hi all, new to the board. I have a Stanley HID 3000 that the main light quite working. I called tech support and he's having me try running the batt down with the small light (taking forever) then charging it for 24 hours. If that doesn't work I'm hosed because it's not under warranty anymore. Does anyone know how I should troubleshoot this thing? Like how much voltage should be present at the bulb etc...Also if someone could explain how to get the black plastic part at the front of the light off or even post a picture that would be great.

Thanks for reading...

Mine has the same problems, battery would just hold a charge for 15 minutes runtime. That is normal for a SLA battery that has been around for few years.

To dissemble it just unscrew everything you see and the head will just pop out. It seems that it kind of wrap the body but it doesnt. just unscrew everything.

You could replace it with a new sla battery or build your own nimh pack.
