i have a BC700 and 8 Eneloops AA 1900mA (HR-3UTGA) intended mainly for xbox wireless controllers (~25mA). Cells still unused i want to go for max 'cycle life' instead of max power so i've decided to skip any initialization or conditioning. I hope that's ok.
Most of the time only one pad is used so 6 of 8 cells may rest several weeks or months. Do you think its an appropriate strategy to rotate the pairs on every charge session (1 pair only) so they worn out more equally?
It's recommended to prevent storing fully loaded cells over a longer time. What does it mean exactly... Does it only mean keeping 'storage queens' permanently at 100% (by recharging them at <80%) or is charging to max and letting them drain 'on their own' (self discharge) until 0.9V the same evil? I would like to go for the latter strategy for the 6 unused cells. A trade-off between availability and cell-friendly treatment i hope.
If cells aren't used for more than 4 weeks(?) would it be useful to charge (initialize) them at 200mA for an hour? Have read it somewhere...
I want to charge with 700mA/350mA when empty. When should i 'refresh' them? On an absolute time difference (like 6 month) or fixed charge count?
What do you think?
