Storing Batteries in Series

Hello All
I have a Pila GL3, and I am thinking of getting some shrink tubing (or tape), and connecting 3 batteries in series for faster reloading. Size of the tube will accomadate this, but can anyone find any reason for not doing this?

No problem doing that,
Surfire even offers that for use in weaponlights,
with an aditional spacer between the batteries.

I did that with tape, much easier to change cells in darkness.

I saw a really neat rechargeable 3D rechargeable pack that was like that... i'd find some anti-corrosion conductive gel to put between the inside connections since they won't have the normal motion that keeps them clean.
