STP16NF06 Mosfet suitability?

Has anybody used this mosfet in their light?

I'm planning on running a quad XR-E R2 Mag setup for diving with a reed controlled mosfet for switching, a KD 2.8A driver driving the R2's at 1400mA and 8 x 18650 cells for power. I'm undecided as to whether I'll have the cells in a 4s2p config or 2s4p..

So would the STP16NF06 Mosfet listed above be suitable do you think? I see a lot of people use the IRF540N mosfet but I have a couple of STP16NF06's sitting around doing nothing.

It's probably ok. The RDS is higher and the max current is lower, but your application isn't super demanding.
