Stream light Stinger update

Man did i ever get tired of dropping one flash light after another, and finding more than just the bulb burning out. Being a mechanic, i dont want to spend time cursing at no light. Decided to get a Stinger with the nice quick piggy back charger. I saw the other model stingers, but they were abit chunky looking. But then there are those twin tasks lights! Ooooo!!! groovy! Maybe next time i'll look into them. Just knowing that i can recharge and burn another pack sounds arousing. I tell ya, you guys really instigate me to spend money on a FLASH LIGHT?? LIFE IS GOOD! Cheers everyone. Ill give you an update how this boy holds up and burn time.

I've been looking to get the Streamlight Stinger for 5 months now (other flashlight sales got in the way like the recent TigerLite). I would like to know how it holds up to your standards. Let us know when you get it.

Which Stinger did you get? The original Stinger or the HP or XT/HP? Myself, I have the XT/HP version and it comes with two rechargeable battery sticks, this has served me very well...

I got the regular stinger for its size/output. The other versions seem really nice, but a bit bulky for my needs. It was a hard decision among those models i must say.

I have the Poly Stinger and the XT. Poly is my favorite. Feels good in the hand and does't ding up much when dropped. The bulb holds will with abuse.

Well this bad boy came in and is working very well. This is the standard stinger. 15k candle light, with extra bulb. Head gets pretty warm to the touch, but nothing to be concerned about. Beam is focusable, but loses a bit of quality fanning out. Spot beam is intense and piercing. You really cant look at it without hurting your eyes. The battery arrangement is unique. Both postive and negative come through the top end of the pack. Run time so far has been a good 25 min with no fade. Once cycled a few times run time i was told was 1 to 1.5 hours. We'll see how accurate those times are. Unit is small, about the size of a 3 cell flash light. Charging is the high rate series at 700mah and will top of in 2.5 hours. After which it will "float charge" Current at that point is .1 of an amp. Minimal drain if your going to put it in your cig lighter in your car. Very refreshing to know that you have another pack topped off when one goes dead since the charger does 2 packs at a time. Ill report further in a few weeks to see how it holds up

I have two polystingers and charge them in a fast car charger. So, I switch lights instead of batteries.

I really like the Stingers, but the on/off switch is small and hard to aquire quickly. For most people that is not a problem.
However, I solved that problem long ago by always having a Surefire with me for a quick burst of light.
