Streamlight Jr....

Can anybody who owns one of these tell me how bright it is compared to a Mini*ag (stock bulb) or similar 2AA lights? I've thought about getting one "just because"...but if it's no brighter than any other 2AA light, I'll save my pennies. Thanx...

It's about the same as a MiniMag. The difference is that it has a proprietary bulb that is not as easily found as the T1 lamps. It also comes with an endcap switch.

Ditto with Empath's comparison ... plus, the beam pattern is harder to adjust with the SL Jr. than with the MiniM@g. I can usually get the MiniM@g beam down to a decent narrow focus by playing with the bulb. Harder to do with the Jr.

I would suggest getting a Kroll tailcap switch with a MiniM@g. There are many more aftermarket products (tailcap switch, traffic cone, led drop-ins, etc.) available with the MiniM@g than with the Jr.

Got one sitting right here. Found it in a junk drawer, awhile back.
No brighter, if as bright as a Mini-Mag. It doesn't want to tighten down to a spot, either. Always has a hole in the beam.
Yuck.
