Streamlight ProPolymer 4AA acting up on eneloops

I tried using Streamlight ProPolymer 4AA lux with 4 new freshly charged eneloops but the light came on very dim; then after several clicks it slightly flickered and output increased to max. Am I going to destroy the light and or the batteries using it? The light is made for alkalines but didn't think there would be voltage issue with eneloops.

Sounds like a contact issue .... I once had the same problem .

The Eneloops won't hurt it ..... don't worry .

Clean your contacts with a pencil eraser ..... and try again .
